“We honestly couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue for our wedding. The Old Coach House at The Red Lion is such a special place and was absolutely perfect for our intimate wedding. From the welcome drinks in the courtyard through to the main meal, the whole atmosphere was exactly what we wanted. Lucy was absolutely amazing throughout the whole process. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and we really valued her input and guidance.”

The crab gratin is off the scale gastronomically with a beautiful venison fillet for my main which was perfectly balanced and local blackberry and apple crumble to finish accompanied by expertly recommended wine. I can only recommend a visit to the Red Lion fine dining.”

“Come in several times and every time it's been absolutely beautiful. Me and my sister treated my mum to a roast dinner and we couldn't be happier. Staff were extra friendly, food was super tasty and nicely priced and drinks were also lovely. My mum had a gin and tonic and highly rated it. Everything was beautifully presented and garnished, wouldn't get nicer food anywhere else. Huge shoutout to Lucy, Donna, Nikita and the team for looking after us.”

Jon from Two Plus Dogs visited on a Saturday lunchtime, drawn in by Grace Dent's Guardian review. He praised the set lunch as "an absolute bargain", singling out the fish pie — packed with sea trout and hake in a dill-scented sauce — and a Gruyère mac 'n' cheese with truffle oil. Desserts of bread and butter pudding and chocolate almond torte rounded off what he called a "homely and strong" finish. A roaring fire and friendly welcome sealed the deal.
